Light Adrenaline prides itself on providing images that are dynamic and elegant. We like to think outside the box and we design each session from the ground up with each individual client in mind. Why would you want your model portfolio, your senior portraits or your wedding album to look just like everyone else's? Light Adrenaline is not like any other studio, so we don't provide our clients with a scripted set of photographs. Your images should never be static. They should move you. They should be you. They should capture what moves you.
About Us
Light Adrenaline Photography & Design was established in 2002 as Photobox Studios by Ryan Bartels. Years of experience and ambition led him to create a business that would provide exceptional photographic services to a wide variety of clientele.
Sparked by the desire to capture the beauty of nature, he began concentrating on landscape photography, specifically in Sedona, Arizona, and the Grand Canyon. Numerous requests for prints led him to develop a simple website that featured his work and an independent business was born.
The subject matter quickly expanded into sports photography when he was invited to a local high school to shoot a football game from the sidelines. Ryan was instantly hooked. The drive to capture fast paced intensity coupled with the inability to control the subject led him to pursue other athletic venues. Within a year he was providing action images to schools, parents, players and private athletic clubs throughout central Arizona. The images soon caught the attention of a local travel agency and in 2006 the company was contracted to document a two-week international football and volleyball campaign by Arizona-Queensland Gridiron Cultural Exchange. Ryan provided action and recreational photography and videography in a custom DVD recruiting portfolio that is still used by the organization today. Since then his images have been used in countless media outlets in Arizona and, more recently, in Alabama including newspapers, websites, advertisements, brochures, recruiting videos and more.
Through the years requests for senior art and wedding photography began to grow and in 2004 Ryan began working in private portraiture. He has established himself as a unique and creative eye in this competitive market and his reputation as a humorous, lighthearted, yet focused artist continues to spread throughout the southeast. In the wedding industry, Light Adrenaline has become synonymous with elegant, captivating and timeless images. Our model portfolios and portraiture have been defined as original, contemporary, playful and stunning. Clients can expect creative and cutting edge images that most studios won't, or simply can't, provide.
Ryan received an honors degree in English from Arizona State University. He is currently the Sports Information Director at Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama, and serves as the athletic department photographer and graphic designer. In only two years his work has received national attention and has garnered several awards. He also provides album photography and design for bands and music groups and has most recently been working with Cornerstone. Ryan continues to provide images and graphics to local and national media and works as a freelance writer for Wiregrass Living Magazine.
