About Light Adrenaline

Ryan Bartels is an award winning photographer and graphic designer who's work has garnered fifteen national awards, including twelve first place finishes.

He has been taking pictures all of his life and started shooting professionally more than a decade ago. He established Photobox Studios in 2002 in Glendale, Arizona, when he began offering portrait and wedding services. He also provided athletic photography coverage for multiple high schools and clubs throughout the Phoenix area.

Ryan and his wife later moved to Alabama where he worked briefly with a national portrait studio. He began doing freelance action photography for Faulkner University that same year and was later hired as the Director of Sports Information and Graphic Design and maintains that position today.

Ryan changed his independent company name to Light Adrenaline Photography & Design in late 2010 and continues to offer freelance photography, videography and design services throughout the southeast. His areas of expertise include wedding, portrait, live action, nature and commercial photography. Ryan helps produce portfolios for aspiring models and has worked extensively with bands and other musical groups on album artwork and design.

Ryan's been teaching photography courses and conducting Photoshop and studio lighting seminars in central Alabama since 2008, and is a guest speaker and judge for Capital City Camera Club in Montgomery. He's also worked as a freelance writer for Wiregrass Living Magazine.

Other area's of interest and involvement include video production and editing. Ryan was contracted to produce a recruiting documentary for Arizona-Queensland Gridiron Cultural Exchange in 2004, highlighting international travel and student interaction. He's coordinated and produced athletic training demonstration projects, athletic recruiting videos and his efforts have crossed over into his position with the University. Ryan serves as the producer and director of the school's weekly television show, Faulkner This Week, and has provided sponsors and athletic programs with coverage of events including trips to Hawaii and Pebble Beach.

Ryan works with various non-profit and mission-oriented entities as well. He offers photographic, video and/or design services on various levels for Capital City Juniors Volleyball Club, local chapters of the Cub Scouts and Landmark Church of Christ. He serves as a consultant and graphic artist for local photographers and small businesses on projects ranging from logo and business card design to website layout and hosting solutions. He is involved in international mission efforts and his journeys have led him to work with orphans in Ukraine and to conduct language classes and relational work in Turkey. Ryan plans to travel to Malawi in 2012.

He received an honors degree in English from Arizona State University. He's been married to his wife Tori for 10 years.
